Teambuilding and Leadership
Tools, Techniques and Strategies in These Changing Times

The #1 challenge that faces companies and organizations today is the ability of its' leaders to attract good people, keep them motivated and instill a positive and profitable work environment. To be effective, team leaders must master the qualities of good "leaders" and not just "managers". A leader leads people a manager manages things.

In our program the participants will learn the various tools, techniques and “win-win” strategies to effectively interact with their supervisors, peers, and those who they supervise. They will learn to reduce and eliminate chaos and resolve conflicts between team members and others in the organization. Above all, they will learn the communication strategies that are the foundation for a smooth operating environment and a successful business.

The reality of organizations today is that everything is changing faster than ever before. And to be successful organizations, teams and individuals must embrace change. Everyone is doing more with less. And in this fast pace world communication suffers. Poor working relationships, internal and external strife, failure to deal with diversity, stereotyping, class issues, conflicts, misunderstandings, stress, less productivity and low profits are all a result of ineffective teams.

The fact is that there will always be more to do than can be done by one person. According to the vice-president of Southwestern Airlines, “People who are only doing the work of two people are loafing in our company. It doesn’t matter whether it’s two full-time jobs; four or twelve that one person has to do. Our productivity is the result of the trust we have with each other. If you have the right trust, working relationship, environment and positive communication, the work gets done.”

Rather than focus on things and time we must focus on preserving and enhancing relationships and on accomplishing results. This program will go beyond the symptoms and focus on the real problems that cause chaos in organizations.

All of the above is essential for the smooth operation of any organization. The #1 asset of any organization is its people. If there is constant conflict, communication breakdowns, extensive stress, and failure to follow proven communication strategies and guidelines then at the very least there is low productivity and at the worst there is paralysis. This program will show you how to manage and overcome chaos by enhancing relationships and improving the workflow process. Remember, the key to lasting success is not just doing things right but doing the right things.

We will focus on the 6 key ingredients leaders need to flourish in the coming years:
Teamwork strategies that work. We will learn the strategies and techniques to boost your team to the next level. You’ll not only become more productive, but everyone will work in an environment that fosters trust, cooperation and respect. You’ll learn creative ways to determine what makes up a successful team, characteristics of the best teams, team member and team leadership traits, dealing with and resolving conflicts on the team, handling meetings, growing your team and strategies to increase teamwork.
Practice of good team leadership principles. They are great team leaders because they continue to “sharpen the saw” to upgrade their leadership skills. We will focus on the characteristics and traits of successful leaders.
Problem solvers. They know the principles involved in problem solving and seek a “win-win” outcome in almost any situation.
Dealing with conflict. They are knowledgeable and comfortable in handling and resolving conflicts.
Motivate employees. They are open-minded and understand the different ways to motivate different employees.
Communication. 90% of all team leadership problems are a result of poor communication practices. Major reasons include poor listening, misunderstandings and not communicating in the communication ingredients important to the staff person.

Each of these ingredients can also be a complete module or seminar on their own!
